Gulf Stream

The Gulf Stream is a tremendous, warm ocean current that originates off the coast of Florida. The Gulf Stream stretches northeast off New York and New Jersey's coasts, toward the north Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf Stream is easily visible on this image as the warmest water (reds). PURPLE and BLUE represent the coldest temperatures (between 0-15 °C) and ORANGE and RED represent the warmest temperatures (between 22-32 °C).
